Whether we like it or not, if we have any presence on social media, we are a walking talking personal brand. Depending on how you treat your various social media assets: bio, content, followers, links, profile pic, banner, etc. you’re either building a strong personal brand or you’re missing out on an opportunity to build anything you want in the future and leverage the aspects of you NO ONE can replicate.

Your personal brand is YOU. It’s the quirky side of you. The genius side of you. The side of you that isn’t sure which step to take next. It’s how people see you, or some would say, it’s your reputation.

This is very different from a business brand, which can be more one dimensional. Your personal brand should be as well-rounded as you are.

3 Pro Tips for Building a Strong Personal Brand on Social Media

1. Stand for Something Specific

• Clarity over complexity. Pick one clear idea you want to be known for (e.g., “community-led business,” “ethical tech,” “creative resilience”).

• People don’t follow vague — they follow conviction.

• Let your values and mission come through every time you show up and in every post, even if it’s subtle.

2. Show Your Face + Tell Real Stories

• People connect with people, not logos or perfection.

• Speak on Spaces or use photos, behind-the-scenes, or video to let your audience see and feel you.

• Share personal wins, lessons, and even failures with a purpose — this builds emotional authority.

3. Post Consistently, But With a System

• Your brand grows by showing up, not just blowing up.

• Use content pillars (e.g., Story, Teach, Prove, Invite) to simplify what to post.

• Batch create and schedule — but make space for spontaneous posts that bring energy into the feed.
