What is Sora?

Sora is an AI model developed by OpenAI that can create realistic and imaginative scenes from text instructions. It is a text-to-video model capable of generating videos up to a minute long while maintaining visual quality and adherence to the user’s prompt.

Sora can also simulate actions that affect the state of the world in simple ways, such as leaving new strokes along a canvas or creating bite marks on a burger. The model has strengths in understanding and simulating the physical world in motion, but it also has limitations, such as struggling with accurately simulating the physics of a complex scene and understanding specific instances of cause and effect.

OpenAI is taking important safety steps ahead of making Sora available in its products, including working with domain experts and building tools to detect misleading content.

As of now, Sora is not readily available to the public, but OpenAI is working on preparing it for deployment and engaging with various stakeholders to understand their concerns and identify positive use cases for the technology[1][3][4].

How can creators prepare to monetize with Sora?

Do the things you would do if Sora didn’t exist. All week we have been discussing the power of story telling and what it means to be an AI Influencer (EduCreator). We have also been reminded that growing an email list and serving our communities with high value content via email is a wonderful way to make connections and foster real engagement.

I created a guide that will help you build a simple, yet powerful, Google Form to collect verified emails and even deliver a lead magnet if you’d like. Check it out here. I will update this guide over time and Part 2 will focus on uploading your emails onto an email platform like Beehiiv.

Start here. Even if you have an email list, focus on growing it everyday. When Sora is released, you’ll have a better understanding of who your audience, community, clients, and customers are. Then you can create the videos they need to get to the next level. This is so powerful.
