#44: AI will transform the way we train and learn

Happy Thursday EduCreator!

When I left the DC Public School system in 2017 after coaching and training teachers for a decade, I thought I wanted to start my own Charter school. I quickly learned after spending a year as an educational consultant and apprentice to a school Founder in her pilot year that this was not actually the path I wanted to go down. I was a part of a broken system and trying to build something great on top of infertile soil finally stopped making sense.

During 2020 when the world was on lockdown, I took on a few contracts with schools and educational non-profits to help them develop their remote learning curriculum and find the best technology to support with implementation. It was a scary time for many and the students were the ones being negatively impacted the most while the adults tried to figure out how to best engage students on a screen after being in a physical classroom for so long.

I share this because the vision for OCC Metaversity has been evolving for years. When I discovered the world of advanced technologies like machine learning (AI), Web3, and the metaverse a little over a year ago, I knew everything in education was about to change, and FINALLY evolve.
