#35: Our FIRST Video Space!

Experimenting with the tech.

ATTENTION MEMBERS: Please complete this quick member survey and the 3-Part Welcome sequence to fully onboard.

Happy Leap Year Day EduCreator!

X released video capability for Spaces hosts a couple days ago and today was our first ever video space! The beginning went well and it was more fun than I expected, if I’m being honest. I was nervous about being self-conscious and overly distracted but it was a great experience, until everything started bugging out.

About half way into the space, the audience stopped being able to see my video and for a lot of the space, audio wasn’t working either. We also learned that Android users do not yet have access and it’s probably best to update your iPhone as well. It is possible I am responsible for the glitches because I kept turning the camera on and off. Too many button presses for new technology!

While it was fun to experiment with the new tech, accessibility is very important to me. So until the video tech is more widely available for all (or most) users we will stick to audio spaces. In the meantime, let’s prepare for video spaces by using our imagination and creativity because this is a HUGE opportunity.

If these numbers are accurate, this is one of our biggest spaces, even with all the glitches! Thank you to everyone who participated and I appreciate your patience with the tech issues.

Have a great day!

Today’s EduCreator LIVE 🎙️ REPLAY

Thursday Theme: Custom AI Solutions

Topic: Building an AI Automation Agency

Check out today’s replay to learn more about building an AI automation agency. We do touch on it briefly, but we spent most of the time playing with the new video feature.

Before the Space, I asked ChatGPT for some advice on running a video space after doing audio spaces for so long. This was the response. Hope you find it helpful!

Here are several innovative ideas to consider:

1. Visual Demonstrations with Verbal Descriptions

- Idea: Use video to demonstrate tools, workflows, or concepts visually while providing detailed verbal descriptions for those who can't see the video. This dual approach ensures inclusivity.

- Example: Demonstrating an AI tool's interface on video, while verbally guiding listeners through each step you're performing.

2. Interactive Q&A Sessions with Visual Aids

- Idea: Conduct Q&A sessions where you answer questions on video, using visual aids like diagrams or slides. These aids can support your explanations, but ensure to describe all visual elements out loud.

- Example: Displaying revenue graphs from AI projects while explaining the key points and trends to both viewers and listeners.

3. Behind-the-Scenes Glimpses

- Idea: Offer viewers a behind-the-scenes look at your setup or any relevant visual content that adds value to your audio content. This can make your show more personable and engaging.

- Example: Showing your studio setup, how you organize your research, or previewing visual content that will be discussed in the show.

4. Live Polls and Interactive Elements

- Idea: Use visual elements like live polls or quizzes on video, while verbally communicating the options and results to your audience. This method can create a dynamic and interactive experience.

- Example: Conducting a poll on which AI marketing tool to discuss next, describing the options and results live.

5. Showcase Guest Experts

- Idea: If you have guest speakers, use video to introduce them and show their reactions during discussions. This adds a personal touch and helps in building a connection with the audience.

- Example: Showing your guest while they share insights, and narrating their credentials and background information for listeners.

6. Visual Summaries of Key Points

- Idea: At the end of each session, provide a visual summary of the key points discussed, such as a mind map or bullet points on slides, while also recapping them verbally.

- Example: Displaying a slide with the top 5 takeaways from the day's topic as you narrate them.

7. Incorporate Real-Time Illustrations

- Idea: Draw or illustrate concepts in real-time to visually explain complex ideas, ensuring to describe your drawings as you go.

- Example: Sketching a concept map of AI business opportunities as you discuss each one.

Implementation Tips:

- Accessibility: Always keep in mind the accessibility of your content. Ensure that any visual component has a verbal counterpart so that those who cannot see the video still have a rich learning experience.

- Feedback Loop: Encourage feedback from your audience on how well the video integration is working for them. This can help you adjust your approach to better meet their needs.

- Promotion: Use social media and your show’s website to share snippets or summaries of what you cover visually, enticing more listeners to join live sessions.

By thoughtfully integrating video into your live audio show, you can create a more engaging and inclusive learning environment. Experiment with these ideas and continuously seek feedback from your audience to refine your approach.
